Among the many memorable moments: he was bitten by a rabid monkey in Benaraes, the Hindu holy city in India, climbed the great pyramid of Cheops
outside of Cairo, crossed into East Berlin at Checkpoint Charlie before the Berlin wall fell, crossed the Nalabar desert of Australia, trekked in
the Himalayan mountains of Nepal, and relaxed on the beaches of Fiji, Tonga, Samoa, Indonesia and Hawaii.
Marathon Runner
George Torok completed his first tri-a-tri triathlon in 2001, his first half-marathon in 2002 and his first full marathon in May 2003. A marathon
is 42 kilometers or 26 miles. In high school he was a struggling member of the cross-country team, (aka Harrier team), and dropped out of his
first six-mile race. Just like business - persistence counts.
